  1. OPEN:
  2. Open file  means simply to read a data file from the disk
  3. drive. It will bring up a listing of Data files to choose
  4. from. If you already have a file opened and you have made
  5. any  changes (I.E. Edited), you  will be prompted to SAVE
  6. the current file prior to OPENing a new one.

  8. SAVE:
  9. Save will write to disk ANY Data file OPENED ( and read
  10. in ) previously. If you have an OPENed a file, it's name
  11. and type are shown on the screen. SAVE will write the
  12. Data file to the disk using the same NAME it was OPENed
  13. with.

  15. SAVE AS:
  16. Save As will likewise write a Data file to the disk, but
  17. you are prompted to enter a name, thus allowing you to
  18. do things such as EDIT a Data file and saving it (and the
  19. subsequent changes) under a different name in an effort
  20. to keep the original "clean." DO NOT add a DOS EXTENSION;
  21. Collect! does this for you (it uses it's own extension so
  22. it can automatically locate your data files.) If you do,
  23. SAVE AS will simply not save at all. You can also press
  24. ESCAPE if you change your mind.

  26. NEW:
  27. New will allow you to create a NEW Data file. You will be
  28. required to enter a filename for your Data File, and also
  29. choose from an existing TYPE of collection.

  31. ABOUT:
  32. About tells you the Collect! Version number and shows a
  33. copyright notice.

  35. QUIT:
  36. Quit --- EXIT to DOS prompt; END the program.
